Living costs in Nancy
Students should allow for a minimum of 500 Euros per month.
How much money one spends is usually dependent on the person and the type of lifestyle the student leads. 500 Euros will include costs such as accommodation, all provisions, and transportation throughout Nancy.
Please note that this does not include extra travel.
Estimated costs per month are :
- CROUS room : 150 €
- Meals at the university restaurant : 150 €
- "Pass bus" at student tarif : 30 €
- Entertainment (cinema, disco) : 80 €
- Extra food expenses : 80 €
Banking facilities
Foreign students are advised to open a bank account on arrival.
This will make the student’s everyday life easier.
The following documents are required :
- copy of the student’s passport,
- proof of university registration
- proof of residence (letter from the CROUS…..).
Checkbooks are free of charge and widely used in France, credit cards can be obtained against of an annual fee ranging from 15 € to 50 €.
